This policy describes how Winkroom ("we", "us") handles information when you use our mobile application and related online services.
Who we are

Information we collect
- App preferences: language and appearance settings stored on your device.
- Game content you enter locally: player names and game choices you type on your device for offline or pass-and-play modes stay on the device unless you use an online feature.
- Online services: when you use features that contact our servers (for example fetching game content, reporting anonymous usage counts for which words or questions were played, or joining online multiplayer such as Draw & Guess), your device sends requests to our systems. Those requests may include technical data such as IP address, approximate timing, app version, and request parameters needed to provide the feature.
- Online multiplayer (Draw & Guess): display names you choose, room codes, scores, drawing and guess data needed to run the session are processed in real time on our servers for the duration of the room.
- Device motion: some games read motion from your device (for example tilt) only on the device to control gameplay; we do not upload accelerometer samples to our servers for that purpose.
- Camera and photo library: the app may request access only if you use a feature that needs it; we do not receive images unless a feature explicitly uploads content you choose to send.
How we use information
We use the above to run the app, deliver online games, improve reliability, maintain and improve game content (including anonymous popularity of content items), and secure our services.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We use infrastructure and service providers to host and operate the app; they process data on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law.
Retention
- On-device data (preferences, local game data): kept until you clear app storage, reset the app, or uninstall the app.
- Online multiplayer session data: kept only in server memory for the active room and removed when the room ends, times out, or the server restarts; it is not kept as a permanent personal profile.
- Anonymous or aggregated usage tied to content identifiers (for example which word pair or question IDs were played, and aggregate counters): retained as long as needed to operate and improve the catalogue of game content, typically for the life of the product unless we delete or reset statistics for maintenance.
- Server and security logs (such as IP address and request metadata): retained for a limited period, typically up to 90 days, unless a longer period is needed for security investigations or legal obligations.
Deletion and your choices
- Local data: you can delete data stored on your device at any time through your device settings (clear app data / storage) or by uninstalling the app.
- Data on our systems: because we do not require sign-in accounts, we may not be able to link stored logs or aggregate statistics to you personally. If you want us to delete personal information we can reasonably identify as relating to you (for example where you participated in an online session and you give us enough detail to locate relevant server logs), email support@winkroom.app from the address you want us to use for correspondence and describe your request. We will confirm receipt and respond within 30 days where feasible, and delete or anonymise what we can unless we must keep it for legal reasons.
- If we cannot verify or isolate your data (for example purely aggregate counts that are not tied to an identifiable person), we will explain the limits in our reply.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information.
Children
Winkroom is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
International transfers
If you use the app from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be processed in those locations.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, where appropriate, in the app.
